Karma and moksha

The ways to liberation are devotion, discipline, dignity, determination and detachment. A person who wishes attain moksha or freedom from birth and death should try to overcome impulses and be freed of lust and desire.

Devotion is part of the spiritual progress. Devotion is complete surrender and faith in GOD'S will. Turning to GOD for his help in the most trying circumstances can change the fate of a person completely. One need not collapse and resign to the cruel fate. God is the creator and saviour.

A disciplined life will never be torn apart or swayed by storms. A person who has control of his life and lives according to principles will not be easily defeated. The will power of a disciplined person will surface during times of need.

Dignity and self respect cannot be bestowed. It is more of a self imposed attitude. Other people will treat us according to our own value of self. If we are dignified then not one person can make fun or belittle our personality. People should ignore those who throw stones for they are not perfect.
Determination to reach the goal is the most important step to liberation. It is the armor against laziness and impulses. A determined person will not give way to gossips, scandals or bad influences. Only such a person will reach the goal of moksha.

Karma is inevitable in the life span of an individual. Detachment is the liberating factor towards the goal of spirituality. Dedicating the actions to the Lord and asking His permission before attempting any work will free a person from the shackles of karma.

Spirituality s not an end in itself. It is the moral way of living life in the Earth.

Devotion to God

God has for me a destiny
I need not worry, tear my hair or be sorry
He shall wish and that will be done
I need only act out his screenplay
He will look after me and care
If I look upto Him with faith and obedience.
Devotion does not require money
just a little patience and strength

God helps those who help themselves

Man always craves for easy solutions. He is always on the lookout for ways to make money easily and falls into traps. Hardwork is quality that only a few pople have these days and they become successful. With the technology advances, people tend to rely on external help for all types of problems without even trying to use their brain or skill.

A sage once told a farmer that God helps those who help themselves. He asked the farmer to call for God's help when in trouble. The farmer agreed and went his way. Once when the farmer's bullock cart was lodged in the mud, he immidiately sat down and folded his arms and prayed, asking God to dislodge his cart. When nothing happened he ran to the hermitage and complained to the sage that God did not bother to hear his plea. The sage reminded him of the sying and said that man should pray for God's blessings and try to solve his problems using his skill and strength and then only pray for direct help if nothing works. The farmer agreed and started to push the wheel of the cart and at the same time praying to God. He felt that someone was pushing the other wheel. Within a few minutes the cart became dislodged. He thanked God and spread the message.

I have had a first hand experience based on the above quote. Rejections, refusals, taunts, insults, fired from job, slights have been experienced by me for a long time. Whenever I feel dejcted, I open a leaf and read the saying. This quote used to appear always reminding me that the will of God is always executed. What man gives never lasts, what God gives never perishes. I poured out my heart to God everyday.





HE listened to me with patience, always trying to comfort me through his mysterious ways. A joke or story used to be thrust before me to make me laugh thus reminding me that the true nature of man is happiness. Now, after he has purified me through trials and tribulations, I am slowly climbing the ladder to peace and prosperity.





A door closed before me but three very good ones opened instantly and I now write for sites like bright hub, factoidz and wikinut. God's grace is always present, man need only knock.

The Rudraksha bead is known to almost all Indians and many others interested in Hinduism all over the world. It is a bead worn around the neck as a chain of beads or as a single bead. The Rudraksha bead is normally worn by males and those who are spiritually inclined and have overcome the desires of the flesh.

Wearing the Rudraksha is believed to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva. The Rudraksha is got from the Rudraksha tree which is usually seen in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, and the country of Nepal. The leaves of the tree are 22 cm long and 6 ½ cm wide. The flowers of the tree are white in color and are in bunches.

The Rudraksha bead has a lot of medicinal properties and is used in the cure for mental illness, blood pressure, small pox and chicken pox, poisons, cough, fever, breathlessness and fits.

Stories on the origin of Rudraksha and its divine nature are explained in the Devi Bhagavatham in the 11^th Skanda. An asura named Tripurasura was very strong and he was able to defeat even Lord MahaVishnu and all the other devas. Devas assembled before Lord Shiva and pleaded for his help.

Lord Shiva sat and thought about the problem for a long time and because of that tears came out of his eyes and fell as rudrakshas on the ground. Out of his eye which represents the Sun, 12 deep red rudrakshas fell on the ground. Out of his another eye which represents the moon, 16 white colored rudrakshas fell on the ground and out of his fiery third eye known for destructing evil which and which represents fire, fell 10 black colored rudrakshas.

The white colored rudraksha represents the Brahmin, the deep red represents the Kshatriyas, the mixed color represents the Vaishyas or traders and the black represents the Shudras.

The rudraksha can be capped with gold or silver and worn. The Devi Bhagavatham points out that those who wear rudraksha bead will attain Brahmajnana or supreme realization of God. All sins will be washed away if one wears the rudraksha. But if a person wears a rudraksha and commits sins, then he will have to take countless births to pay for it. One should not involve in gossip or backbiting if one wears the rudraksha. If one gives food and clothes to a person wearing the rudraksha, then all sins will be removed and one will attain heaven because of the good deed.

There are several types of rudrakshas ranging from one faced to fourteen faced rudraksha. The one faced represents Lord Shiva and even the sin of murder will be washed away on wearing it. The two faced represents the goddess and the fourteen faced is extremely pure and if one wears it one will be considered equal to God because the purity of he rudraksha transforms the individual. Even seeing a person who is adorned with the rudraksha is divine and purifying.

where there is a will there is a way

Nothing is wrong with us. Where there is a will, there is a Way. At first, we desire

for some thing. The desire then becomes very strong enough that we want it ever so badly. This desire gets fulfilled if it is strengthened by the prayer to God and then it is converted into the almighty will of god.

We humans are playing the game of life. It is like a video game where there are many levels. We can rise up to the top level if we choose. We are not weak or Helpless. Every Strength and Power lies within us. God vision is with us, the very moment we desire it with concentration. But most of us do not even bother to try earnestly. Once we take a small step towards God, God will take ten steps towards us. Trust in God and submission to the supreme will in all circumstances means the vision of truth, vision of the root principle of all creation. If god wills, some say, but that will take place only if we humans assert our own all-powerful will. The way to arise above all is to awaken the inherent power and splendor of our soul. Do it. We are verily the immortal truth; the great, deathless and changeless reality.

If the passions and emotions are not controlled in the early years of life it is impossible later to win over them in middle age or after reaching old age. This does not mean, of course, that while young we should sit tight in one place with our attention concentrated on the nose and its breathing process. It means only that all activities-playing games, singing, reading books, performing daily rites must foster and promote the quality of forbearance. As a result of this, atmashakthi, the potency of the atma or soul can be made patent.

We must discipline ourselves. By this process, leading an orderly life in clean surroundings and having certain aims and goals in life humans will become fit to be leaders in the manifold fields of service to the people and successful in every venture they undertake. Our disciplined lives will pave our way to success. Discipline and a strong urge to be successful will naturally help us attain an iron will which can not be broken up by any sort of obstacles, for example Mahatma Gandhi who won independence for an entire nation ,who never bent under extreme pressure ,for whom work was worship. Get up, shed your fears and awake to freedom, because it is only our fear that is stopping us from achieving great goals in life.

It is often said that divinity cannot be comprehended by man, unless God lays his unseen hand on him and helps him to do so. We should put entire trust in god, Act without being affected by fear [fear of failing, fear of unknown, fear of being rebuked or ridiculed].

Put away your qualms and be determined not to slow down. Take the rein in your hand. Be the charioteer, in control of your senses and Win .In one moment, we shall leap toward success and freedom, freedom from fear which is the greatest obstacle in life.

To the man sunk in the mire of this world, floundering in the quicksand of sensual temptations, God is a distant possibility, far beyond the horizon of everyday experience. To the sadhaka, or aspirant, God is more real, but still a distant goal that has to be reached after trekking a long weary path. To the yogi, God is someone high up above, someone who has to be pleased, so that he may earn from Him the fruits of his yogic practices. But to the devotee or Bhaktha God is something totally different. To him, God is the nearest, the dearest, his beloved, his own dear self. So we should try to be the nearest to God a Bhaktha or Devotee and God shall ever be with us, guiding us always in every step, and prompting us in the right step towards success.

Life’s anxieties touch man with a gnawing distress. For every person a time comes when every thing fails, when he sinks into the gulf of utter blackness, an hour when he would give all he owns for a single ray of hope, for one signature of God, but all will not be lost

if we trust in God, He will not forsake us because God helps those who help themselves.

Transformations in ordinary lives have been witnessed in history. This magical transformation took place because the winners

• Converted human will to God’s will by earnest prayer.

So Arise, Awake and Stop not till your goal is reached. Nothing is stopping you except your own self. Shed your fear. Shape up an aim and think of it day and night, giving all your energy and hard work coupled with prayer. Then nothing will deter you or block your success. Your transformation will be complete. Humans can succeed by implicitly following god’s teachings [the paths are many, but the Goal is one] ,by one pointed concentration on goals in life. Where there is a will, there is a way.
